A Perfect 10

So last week I went on a double date with my buddy. Well we picked up my date first...which means she was dropped off last. We had a great time on the date, made dinner, played games, etc. As I was taking her home...my date says "Most guys I've known use the basic 1-10 numbering system based on girls based solely on looks" Which was weird cuz as I remember it neither me or my buddy brought up the topic in any way, shape or form.

My initial reaction was "really? is this happening on a first date?" As I'm trying to decide how to respond to this; luckily the silent cowboy (my buddy) had the whereabouts to turn it around and say girls do similar things just on a different scale. But this got me thinking, which most things do, what would be a good rating scale? Is there a scale that would be ideal for every situation? Can this be possible? I still haven't figured it out. Maybe would could switch to letters, and each letter would represent a different girl? A= awesome all-around H= hottie but that's all she's got going for her K= kissable but not datable D= dramatic C= a good Catch E= Easy and the list can go on, we can use all 26 letters! (or maybe adopt the Spanish alphabet and get a few more)

When it came down to it, I decided that no system would work, for several reasons. The biggest being the fact that it can take weeks to truly give an adequate and accurate ranking. The only thing you can know really quickly: outer appearance. Is the number system flawed? yes. Can it be fixed? maybe. Will we as men change our mainstream thinking? No. So ladies, just relax, the ranking is only temporary, you decide your ultimate ranking by how you act around us. Now is that so shallow?

Change of Scenery

In life we "change scenery" all the time. When we're little we start out having a great time just chillin at home trying to figure out what scooby doo just said and waiting for the day when that damn trix bunny finally gets some of those trix. Then school starts...and that is pretty great: naps, coloring books, recess...but all of the sudden we are expected to grow up in the 1st grade and start reading books with more than 4 words on a page and stop taking mid-morning naps. Then when we are in 5th or 6th grade we feel like we've got it figured out just to get slapped in the face come Jr. High. Then it's the pecking order, we are the lowest on the food chain, then we get to the top, just to get thrown into High school; and the cycle continues.

Now this isn't the only change of scenery we experience. How many best friends have you had? If you are from a small town, maybe you've only had one. but odds are you've probably had your fair share of best friends. My first best friend was Christopher Robin (no, not from winnie the pooh). I tried to find him on facebook a while back and I don't even remember what he looks like let alone where he lives. In 8th grade, a mere 9 years ago my best friend was Zac Gorringe, guess what, I have no idea what he's up to. I haven't spoken to him for 5 years! He went to a different high school so that was the end of that. Fast forward to college and 2 best buddies later, I'm still wondering when the madness will end. My best bud since college started is now living in SLC, and another close friend of mine (essentially another best friend) is starting to get weird and I don't see him much anymore. I think he has had a hard time adjusting after his mission (2 years ago). I feel like we are drifting apart and another change of scenery is coming. Currently one of my best buddies is known as The Silent Cowboy aka Weezy (I'm trying to make that stick with our buddies) aka Jimmer (cuz he makes it rain like the real Jimmer). He's a good dude, and if you asked me who my best bud is right now, he would probably be included.

Now i'll ask you again. When does the madness end? How many people will continue to drift in and out of our lives? I love getting to know new people, I don't regret losing touch with others, I love changing scenery, but only when I'm ready. Is that wrong? No. Not unless I say so.

All Talk?

My first official post and what finally pushed me into getting this account is the subject of being "all talk." I've been accused of it, you've been accused of it. I think most people have been called out at least once in their life for being "all talk." So last night I went to a dance party at the college. It was fun, I had a great time doing the jerk and dougie with a couple friends.

After it was starting to wind down a few girls we know suggested we go to their place for the "afterparty." While chatting for a minute, one girl started touching my lips and proceeded to say "I will experiment on these lips soon" as if to imply she wanted to kiss me. Not 30 seconds later a second girl chose different wording, but basically ended in the same idea. Me. Her. Kissing on her bed. Now, lets get one thing straight. I LOVE girls. Everything about them is great, they are fun to flirt with, can be sexy when they want to, they smell good, and kissing them is a great time. But all I could think about after these girls hinted they want to kiss me, was BULL S*&#, this is all talk. And it was. At their house, both girls would get close, but when it came down to it, they were "all talk."  Don't get me wrong, I think flirting is all part of the game, but c'mon. Really? It's like when you meet someone for the first time and they start telling you about how awesome they were in high school or some hot girl they used to date but don't seem to have a picture or know them on facebook anymore.

Too many people talk big and don't perform. Like this guy Cut the crap, say what's on your mind, and think twice next time you say something, cuz someone might call you on it. If you run into me...I will

Welcome

So recently I have started following a couple friends who have blogs, now I don't have much to say, so I haven't told anyone I've made this blog, however, I feel like having one could be fun and who knows, maybe one day I will let someone know that this thing exists. Until then, a little about me. I go to school (college), I do a sport (track & field) and I like havin a blast with my buddies, chasin tail and doin' crazy stuff. Ya I know, real specific, but I figure, I don't want everyone to know exactly who I am (even tho no one knows about this yet) but the Internet is full of weirdo's and crazy stuff always happen when complete strangers know too much about you. So ya, welcome to my blog...
